CSTB and ECS: Strengthening the European Route

European professional association intensifies cooperation with French institutes (Figure: ECS)
As part of their general assembly, the members of the ECS (European Engineered Construction Systems Association) met with representatives of the CSTB (Centre scientifique et technique du bâtiment) for a detailed exchange of experience. The main new developments in the construction industry as well as in the field of European standardization, the Construction Products Regulation and European Technical Approvals were discussed intensively. Furthermore, the latest research activities of the CSTB in the fields of reinforced concrete, fixing and reinforcement products as well as the fire behaviour of reinforced concrete structures were presented.
The meeting ended with a guided tour through the extensive testing facilities of the CSTB. Representatives of both organisations emphasised the very constructive course of this meeting and underlined that such meetings considerably improve the cooperation between industry and certification bodies and thus sustainably support innovations in the construction industry at European level.
