Shoulder slabs from FCN for stable roadside reinforcement
Ever-increasing heavy-vehicle traffic often causes severe damage to the shoulders of country roads, junctions and traffic circles. For such cases, the special blocks of the Stradafino series from FCN help to stabilize road shoulders over the long term to prevent accidents and damage. Stradafino elements are available either with a smooth surface or with grooves that generate acoustic alerts when driving on them, and which drain rainwater away faster.
In the smooth version, Stradafino curbstones are joined to form stable surfaces that can be driven over quietly. Alternatively, grooved versions are available whose surface structure produces warning noise when driven over. The grooves slope outward, which facilitates water runoff. This helps to channel heavy rainfall, for example, more quickly into permeable subsoils. This feature is particularly useful for reducing flooding in areas without drainage openings.
Dual-layer concrete structure in proven FCN quality
Stradafino road shoulders are in conformity with BGB-RiNGB 06 manufacturing standards and are suitable for load type B4. Manufactured with two-layer concrete structure in proven FCN quality, they are characterized by special robustness and long service life. Their tested resistance to freeze-thaw with de-icing salt is four times as high as required in Europe. The unprocessed surfaces in the gray color shade are, in addition, characterized by excellent slip resistance (R13).
With their curved, unchamfered connection surfaces, the shoulder blocks fit securely into each other and provide a uniform appearance. To strengthen the various forms of road shoulder, the manufacturer offers Stradafino elements in five different configurations: with grooves; smooth; as radium block for forming curves; with design for reflector post bases (50 x 50 x 14 cm, each 79 kg) as well as reflector post base with adaptor bushing (37 x 37 x 14 cm, each 41 kg).
