Carstorcon permanently stores first 1,000 tons of CO₂ in concrete and asphalt

Climate tech company CarStorCon Technologies has proven that buildings can function as CO₂ sinks. Through the use of the innovative additive Clim@Add, over 1,000 tons of CO₂ have already been permanently bound in floor slabs, walls, precast concrete elements, and many other applications. This milestone proves that concrete as an active carbon sink is no longer a vision of the future, but is already being put into practice today.

1,000 tons – this amount corresponds to the CO₂ emissions of an average gasoline-powered car traveling around 5 million kilometers. This means that you would have to circle the Earth 125 times at the equator to emit the same amount of greenhouse gases that CarStorCon has already permanently removed from the atmosphere today.

From the foundation to

serial prefabrication

One reason for the material‘s success is its versatility. Clim@Add can be seamlessly integrated into existing processes, is pumpable, and is easily compatible with existing sustainability measures such as recycled concrete or CO₂-reduced cements. No separate process is necessary; existing facilities and application mechanisms can be used directly.

Over 14,000 m² of concrete has already been produced with Clim@Add – a quantity that shows that the technology is ready for scaling.

The reference list ranges from private homes built using hybrid timber construction methods to massive ring foundations for combined heat and power plants. Exposed concrete facades and interior precast staircases prove that ecological optimization and the highest aesthetic standards go hand in hand. The material has also proven itself in the serial production of prefabricated parts and concrete products. Clim@Add not only improves the CO₂ balance of the components, but also optimizes their functionality and durability.

„This milestone is just the beginning,“ explains Axel Preuß, founder and managing director of CarStorCon Technologies. „We have proven that our technology works seamlessly in concrete construction and on construction sites. But real climate protection can only be achieved together: it is our trusted partners who put our vision into practice and show that the construction revolution is no longer just theory.“
