According to DIN EN 1992-2/NA, the adhesion component of theshear resistance in a concrete-concreteinterface has not to be applied under fatigue or dynamic loading (c = 0). In structures subject to fatigue loading, this results in a relatively high calculated reinforcement ratio, thus leading to a large number of drill holes for shear connectors, particularly in the case of subsequent strengthening by concrete overlays. Consequently, both cost and effort will increase significantly.
