Concrete seminars on waterproof basements

The code of practice on „Waterproof Concrete Structures“ of the German Committee for Reinforced Concrete (DAfStb) from 2003 was revised last year. The current version is available now, with regulating the fundamental aspects for the construction of a water impermeable structure made of concrete to a great extent.

The concrete seminars „waterproof basements“ of InformationsZentrum Beton (IZB), among others, will deal with design and concrete technology according to the current code of practice and in comparison with the old version. A geotechnical expert will inform on the essential aspects of soil and groundwater conditions, which have to be considered prior to the construction of a waterproof basement. Two „practioners and planning professions“ will give presentations on the practical execution of the implementation of water impermeable structures consisting of precast concrete elements and on the joint design, in particular. Furthermore, information will be given on sealing of cracks in a waterproof concrete structure as well as on composite sheet waterproofing membranes.
