FROM THE DIGITAL CONSTRUCTION SITE TO THE ACADEMY: SAMOTER 2026 LOOKING AHEAD

The International Triennial Construction Equipment Exhibition returns to Verona from 6 to 9 May 2026 to showcase the latest innovations in the sector.

Industry 4.0, digitalization, sustainability, artificial intelligence, innovation, safety, training and rental will be the key themes of SaMoTer 2026, scheduled at Veronafiere from 6–9 May. The event aims to inform industry professionals about technological innovation applied to construction sites and the strategic drivers for competitive business, at a time when digital transformation and the ecological transition are redefining production models, processes and skills.

SaMoTer is the only trade fair in Italy entirely dedicated to construction equipment. The 32nd edition, organized by Veronafiere in partnership with Unacea and CECE, confirms its role as a strategic hub for the entire supply chain: from earthmoving, lifting, demolition and drilling to crushing, quarrying and site vehicles, as well as concrete technologies, road construction, components, spare parts, logistics, services and ICT solutions.

With the support of ITA–Trade Agency and Veronafiere’s international network, one of the main objectives of SaMoTer 2026 is to strengthen its global reach through the presence of selected international buyers. Incoming activities will focus on markets such as the Balkans, North Africa and Central and Northern Europe, as well as emerging regions including the Caucasus and South America. With six indoor halls and three outdoor areas, the exhibition will be a key meeting point for manufacturers, dealers, contractors and professionals.

The conference programme in the SaMoTer Arena (Hall 9) will offer specialized insights into market trends and industry scenarios thanks to collaboration with leading trade associations. In an increasingly competitive global context, SaMoTer aims to support the international positioning of Italian and European companies through networking, matchmaking initiatives and new partnership opportunities.
The event will also host the second edition of the Digital Construction Site, developed in collaboration with “Quelli del Movimento Terra”. This dynamic demonstration area will bring together machinery manufacturers, technology providers, construction companies, designers and training institutes to showcase real-world applications of innovation. Companies already confirmed in the high-tech area include CGT Caterpillar, Develon, Leica Geosystems, Komatsu, Morooka, OilQuick, Steelwrist, Takeuchi, Topcon, Trimble and Volvo CE.

“The Digital Construction Site is conceived as an open workshop where innovation is not only explained but demonstrated through real applications,” said SaMoTer Event Manager Matteo Pasinato. “The goal is to provide operators with tools to address challenges such as data management, machine connectivity and process automation.”

Among the most significant innovations is the launch of the SaMoTer Academy, a strategic project developed with Engim Veneto to address the shortage of skilled operators. The initiative aims to create a permanent training ecosystem connecting vocational schools, technical institutes, research centres and companies. Students will combine theoretical lessons with practical training and hands-on experience using partner companies’ machinery, with the possibility of internships and apprenticeships. During SaMoTer, around 200 students will visit participating companies to learn about career opportunities in the sector.

SaMoTer 2026 will feature more than 500 exhibitors, a number expected to grow before registrations close on 10 April. Leading international brands will once again attend, confirming the strength and attractiveness of an event that has been following the evolution of the construction machinery sector for over sixty years.

More than just an exhibition, SaMoTer 2026 will be a hub for ideas, technology and international relationships—four days in which the future of construction sites will take shape through innovation, business and training.
