71st BetonTage 2027: Concrete Elements shape the Transformation of Construction

The transformation of construction calls for new solutions: How can buildings be constructed faster, more sustainably, and more cost-effectively? How can resources be conserved while simultaneously meeting requirements for quality and durability? A key answer lies in industrial prefabrication. Under the theme “Concrete Components - Game-Changers of the Transformation,” the 71st BetonTage in Ulm will demonstrate why concrete components are key to a new building culture – from digital planning and efficient manufacturing processes to circular solutions.

From February 23 to 25, 2027, experts and executives from the precast concrete industry, academia, planning, and the construction sector will gather at the Congress Centrum Ulm to discuss these future-oriented topics. The industry event will be accompanied by an extensive exhibition featuring suppliers, machinery manufacturers, and software companies.

Technical Program Featuring the Industry’s Future Topics

The construction industry faces the challenge of building in a more resource-efficient and climate-friendly manner while simultaneously and rapidly addressing the growing demand for housing as well as the need to renovate and expand aging infrastructure. The precast concrete industry offers solutions to these challenges. Through its industrial prefabrication and serial and modular construction methods, it enables high process reliability, short construction times, and consistently high quality. Innovative concrete mixes, low-carbon cements, the use of recycled materials, and recyclable structures are further driving the decarbonization of construction. At the same time, digital planning and manufacturing processes, automated production workflows, and artificial intelligence create additional efficiency potentials along the entire value chain. Precast construction using lean concrete components represents a distinct path of transformation that does not rely solely on CO₂-reduced cements, although these can also be part of the solution.

Renowned experts from industry and academia will address current challenges and future topics at the 71st BetonTage and demonstrate how the precast concrete industry can actively shape the transformation process. The program makes it clear: precast concrete components are far more than a tried-and-true building product—they are drivers of innovation for climate-friendly, digital, and serial construction, and thus an essential building block for the transformation of the construction industry.

The conference opening has been redesigned to include an industry panel discussion as an integral part of the program. The focus will be on the role that artificial intelligence and digitalization play as drivers of mass-produced and industrialized construction. Industry representatives from the construction sector, market research, and the precast concrete industry will discuss how digital technologies are transforming value chains and what potential this holds for the future.

The program will also be expanded to include a business-focused AI workshop specifically for precast concrete companies. Under the title “Is My Precast Concrete Company Disappearing in the Digital World of Search Engines – and How Can I Stay Visible in the Future?”, participants will learn about the impact of artificial intelligence and changing search habits on corporate visibility, as well as the strategies needed to successfully reach customers and skilled workers digitally in the future.

This time, the guest country Italy will provide a perspective beyond national borders. Representatives from the industry association Assobeton will offer insights into the development of the Italian precast concrete industry and present outstanding construction projects by leading Italian precast manufacturers.

Digital Hub: A Platform for Digital Marketing, PR, and Sales in the Construction Industry

It’s not just construction that’s changing – it’s also the way the industry discusses transformation, shares expertise, and networks. Whether through social media, digital platforms, podcasts, videos, or new formats for knowledge transfer – communication in the construction industry is undergoing a transformation. Following its successful debut at the 70th BetonTage, the Digital Hub will take place February 24–25, 2027, to demonstrate the opportunities digital channels offer for exchange within the construction industry – to raise the profile of its topics, better reach target audiences, and strengthen the dialogue with the public about the future of construction.

Industry Event with Added Value

In addition to the high-caliber technical program, numerous companies from the machinery, software, and supplier industries will once again showcase their offerings in an accompanying exhibition. On the first two days of the conference, the “Innovations for In-Plant Production” Practical Forum – which will take place for the first time in the centrally located Gartensaal – will offer a special focus on practical applications. Here, exhibitors will showcase their latest products, technologies, and services designed to enhance efficiency and quality in the production of industrially precast concrete components.

The combination of a technical conference, practical presentations, applied research, and the trade exhibition has made the BetonTage the most important industry gathering for the precast concrete industry for decades. It brings together key industry players and their market partners along the value chain, such as architects and structural engineers. With its diverse range of formats, BetonTage underscores its commitment not only to presenting technological innovations but also to providing a holistic view of the industry’s transformation – from production and digitalization to communication, corporate management, and international partnerships. “Concrete components are game-changers in this transformation – and BetonTage is the place where this becomes evident. Here, innovative technologies meet practical applications and the people who are actively shaping change in the construction industry,” explains Dr. Ulrich Lotz, Managing Director of FBF Betondienst GmbH and organizer of BetonTage.
