In reality, concrete and concrete surfaces are subject to a large number of influences that lead to technical, functional or visual deterioration of precast elements or concrete products. These include, for example, soiling, efflorescence, vandalism (such as graffiti), or the growth of algae, lichens, and mosses on the surface. Pores in the surface enable gradual water ingress and subsequent concrete corrosion, which results in technical and functional deficiencies.

A varnish, impregnating agent, organic clear lacquer, or anti-graffiti paint is often applied to concrete surfaces to protect them...
