Peikko acquires Besista, a German tension rod supplier

Technology for precast and cast-in-situ construction
Peikko Group Corporation, the leading global supplier for connection technology for precast and cast-in-situ construction, has made an agreement to acquire the company Besista International GmbH. The acquisition includes the operations of a company with some 20 employees, the related factory premises and the IPR rights, such as patents and trademarks. In recent years, the annual sales of Besista have been on the level of EUR 4 million. Besista International GmbH’s operations are in Bad Boll, near Stuttgart, Germany. The official take-over date of the acquisition is 2nd of January 2023.
Besista tension rod and compression bar systems are used to brace buildings and other load-bearing structures. The system is usually visible later and must meet architectural demands. The products are used in timber, steel, and concrete structures, and in special applications such as in facades. The product range is new for Peikko, however, it can be sold to many Peikko’s existing customers.
Efforts and passion
“For the past 37 years, I have put my efforts and passion to develop the top of the class tension rod system Besista. I am pleased to give my creation into good hands of Peikko, and to follow in the coming years how Peikko is able to utilize its international network to spread further the products and brand I have created,” comments the founder and seller of Besista International GmbH, Dr. Anton-Peter Betschart.
