‘Cast stone - decarbonised. Conserving resources. Long-lasting.’ This is the title of a new brochure on the subject of sustainability published by the Informationsgemeinschaft Betonwerkstein e.V. (Info-b). The 16-page information brochure emphasises once again that the path to the future must also be resource-conserving and climate-friendly when building with cast stone. The good news is that numerous innovative solutions are already available from Info-b member companies. Although the companies sometimes pursue different approaches and sometimes arrive at different solutions, they all pursue one essential goal: they want to make the industry fit for the transformation to a CO2-optimised future. The strategies are as creative as they are diverse: innovative, higher-performance cements and concretes, thinner and resource-saving components or circular construction that keeps valuable materials in circulation (recycled concrete as an example). However, sustainability in construction means much more than just conserving resources: cleaning façades and improving the air and inner-city climate also play a key role. One thing is certain: each concept promotes change in its own way. The brochure shows in five subject areas how artificial stone can become more environmentally and climate-friendly - from production and processing to construction. And not just in theory, but always based on impressive examples.

The new Info-b brochure entitled ‘Cast stone - Decarbonised. Resource-conserving.Durable.’ can be downloaded from the Internet at www.info-b.de, as can all previous publications in the “Versatility of cast stone” series. A printed version is available free of charge from .
