Elematic acquires Vollert's precast concrete technology business and establishes Vollert Precast Solutions

Finnish concrete element technology innovator Elematic Oyj has today acquired the precast concrete business of German company Vollert Anlagenbau GmbH as part of its strategy to transform construction internationally. The new unit, Vollert Precast Solutions, will continue its operations in Germany as part of the Elematic Group.

The acquisition brings together two industry leaders and introduces a unique combination of Finnish and German concrete element technology and engineering expertise covering design, automation, software, production, and complete factory lifecycle services. Together, the companies can offer their customers solutions that enable more efficient, safer, and low-carbon construction.

"Our organizations share the same customer-first mindset, focusing on quality and high engineering standards. Elematic is the best company to carry the 100-year legacy of Vollert's precast solutions forward."

Complementary markets and a strong market position in Central Europe

Elematic has traditionally been strong in the Nordic countries, the Middle East, and India, while Vollert has been active and impactful across the Central European countries.

Together, the companies form a complementary market and customer base that strengthens Elematic's position, particularly in:

  • Germany, Austria, France, Spain and Switzerland, where Vollert has long-standing customer relationships.
  • Middle East, India, Asia Pacific and North America where the offering expansion enables serving a wider set of customers.

More options for customers - facilitated by world-leading expertise, providing turnkey solutions

Elematic's strong position in hollow core slab technology, production planning software, structural design services and equipment maintenance with digital services is complemented by Vollert's expertise in circulation line systems, railway sleeper production and automation solutions.

The technology portfolios complement each other, offering customers a wider option depending on production capacity needs, local building regulations, and resource intensiveness of production. In addition, the combined capabilities offer superior solutions for seismic and tall-building environments as well.

With the strengthened talent pool, customers get access to world-leading expertise, helping to craft turnkey solutions to match the customers' needs for their construction projects.

Automation and digitalization respond to the growing labor shortage in the construction industry, enabling faster and more efficient construction

Globally, the construction industry is facing a growing labor shortage across all countries. Elematic and Vollert's combined automation and robotics solutions enable the construction value chain to need less labor, ensure a consistent, faster production process, and deliver a lower cost structure and greater material efficiency.

In addition, software solutions for automation and digitalization cover the entire value chain from production planning and control to automation system management, driving transparency, quality, and productivity through operations.

Towards low-carbon and scalable construction in the future

Finland and Germany have been leading countries in the field since the early 20th century, and demand continues to grow — especially as new technologies will enable the production of carbon-neutral or even carbon-negative concrete elements in the future.

"Together, we move forward with ambition, curiosity, and close cooperation with our customers," Teppo Voutilainen continues. "Our goal is simple: to help our customers succeed in their business and to transform construction together. I am looking forward to connecting with our newly joined employees and serving our expanded customer base. We are stronger together!”

In addition, the shares of Vollert India Pvt Ltd will be purchased as part of the overall transaction, further strengthening Elematic Group's capabilities and capacity in the growing Indian market.
