The concrete plant operated by Betont GmbH in Ravenna Park has grown steadily in recent years. Accordingly, the company is continuously investing in new facilities for the production of precast concrete elements and in expanding its workforce. Now the team is also broadening its management structure.

Return as managing director

Matthias Rüschoff will join the management team on 1 September. The 41-year-old will be responsible for managing the concrete plant together with Jerome Rasfeld. For the past five years, Rüschoff has worked as a project manager at Germany's largest family-run construction company. His new position at Betont is more of a return than a new beginning. After all, he worked for ten years as a project manager and estimator for the construction company Fechtelkord & Eggersmann GmbH after completing his studies. The long-established construction company from Marienfeld and Betont are sister companies within the Eggersmann Gruppe GmbH & Co. KG. ‘I know many of my former colleagues and am looking forward to working with them again,’ explains Rüschoff. ‘Mr Rasfeld also worked for Fechtelkord & Eggersmann at the time, so I'm sure we'll make a good team again.’

Element-based construction as a future-oriented solution

Although the situation in the construction industry is generally considered to be tense, Betont has grown steadily since its takeover by the Eggersmann Group in 2017. Development has been particularly rapid since Rasfeld took over as managing director in 2020. At that time, the plant had an annual production volume (in-house and external production) of around 7,500 m³, in 2022 it was already around 12,500 m³ and today it is approximately 15,500 m³. ‘We produce structural precast reinforced concrete elements and design elements made of exposed concrete in our factory – individually or in series,’ explains Rasfeld. "This form of prefabrication of elements or entire modules is highly efficient. It is one of the answers to the challenges facing the construction industry. This is one of the reasons why the Eggersmann Group received the 2024 Future Prize from the OWL Chamber of Crafts." Thanks to his time at a company with its own serial production in steel and precast concrete construction, Rüschoff is also very familiar with this principle of prefabrication.
