Peikko launches Eco Galvanization® method
Method is said to improve costs, lead time and is environmentally friendly
Peikko Group launches during fall 2010 a new method for protecting steel against corrosion: Peikko ECO Galvanization®. This surface treatment provides number of benefits comparing to traditional hot-dip galvanization.
The first major benefit of the new application is that it can be applied only partially into the product. This leads to material savings and in some cases increases the functionality of the product, e.g. in bonding to the concrete. There are also other clear benefits such as reduced logistics costs due to a Peikko internal process, thus lowering costs and lead-time. All these benefits are also related to the environment, due to savings of waste, coating material and the minimizing transportation compared to traditional hot dip galvanization.
