Subsequent reinforcement connection system with approval

The subject of “omitted or mistaken reinforcement bars” is well known. The professional solution with the injection mortar Epcon C8 of Betomax is aiming at any typical kind of connecting new components to existing building structures, in case of refurbishments, omitted columns up to subsequently attached stair landings and staircase.
The application of a subsequently constructed reinforcement connection by means of the injection mortar Epcon C8 is clearly regulated by the German building authority approval Z-21.8-1866 and the European technical approval ETA-07/0189. The scope of application extends to reinforcement bars type BSt 500 S of diameters from 8 mm to 32 mm in accordance with the German standard DIN 488-1:1984-09.
It is allowed to use a reinforcement connection in normal-density concrete of at least strength class C12/15 up to C50/60 at most. But provided that the drilled holes are made by heavy-duty hammer drill or diamond drill. The following anchorage may be made in dry or wet concrete, however not in drilled holes filled with water. Beside the determining safety benefits, the reactive mortar is adjusted for a long processing time. Thus, it is ensured that the mortar can be filled uniformly into the drilled hole without any pressure of time with the aid of the accessory cartridge applicator gun.
The subsequent reinforcement connection is calculated in accordance with the German standard for reinforced concrete DIN 1045-1. Connections obtained by overlapping joints with the reinforcement of the construction element and the anchoring of the reinforcement at the bearings of slabs or beams, of construction elements having to bear above all pressure, as well as in order to cover the tensile forces, are approved by building authorities.
