Innovation: The Rapp refined shell construction system

The Rapp-refined shell construction system enables the production of lightweight, energy-efficient building envelopes for single-family and multi-family homes, passive houses, and Efficiency 55 houses. The technology exceeds the legally prescribed standards in terms of construction and energy efficiency.

Product innovation:

Production of modular building envelopes and floor slabs on vibrating tilt tables.

Only two floor-to-ceiling building blocks (with/without openings) for maximum design freedom.

Easy integration of windows, reinforcements, installations, and alternatively clay building boards.

Process innovation & efficiency:

Primary energy savings: 43% compared to conventional exterior walls.

Raw material savings: 40%, weight reduction: 50%, construction time reduction: 50%.

Reduced energy consumption during operation: 35,100 W vs. 53,860 W conventional.

No tilting table heating additional CO₂ savings.

Advantages & sustainability:

Air- and windtight exterior walls with heat storage capacity.

Summer heat protection prevents overheating in cities.

Modular construction increases living space (+7%) and reduces shell construction costs (-20%).

Weather-independent prefabrication and simplified approval process.

Practice & references:

In use for over 50 years: durable, virtually defect-free buildings with near-zero energy consumption.

Possible applications: Residential construction, commercial buildings, noise barriers.

Demonstration project “Climate-neutral building” planned for 2026.

Conclusion: The Rapp system combines innovative product technology, efficient processes, and modular flexibility to significantly reduce construction time, costs, and energy consumption—while offering maximum architectural freedom and sustainability.
