Dr. Jennifer Scheydt joins the management team at Birkenmeier Stein + Design

Dr. Jennifer Scheydt joined the management team at Birkenmeier Stein + Design as Chair of the Management Board on March 1, 2026, and will be responsible for the company together with Markus Hemmerich and Jürgen Herr. With the expansion of the management team, the Birkenmeier Group is setting the course for the successful, sustainable, and future-oriented development of the company.

Markus Hemmerich will continue to be responsible for marketing as managing director, while Jürgen Herr will remain responsible for sales and key account management as managing director. As chair of the management board, Dr. Scheydt will take over the overall coordination of the management board and focus on strategic development, innovation, and technology.

Long-standing academic and operational career

Dr. Jennifer Scheydt has a long academic and operational career in the building materials and concrete industry. After studying civil engineering at the University of Karlsruhe (TH) and obtaining her doctorate in concrete technology at the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (KIT), she held management positions at HeidelbergCement AG (now Heidelberg Materials) for many years. There, she was responsible for the Engineering & Innovation division, among other things, and was able to set priorities with innovation projects such as Germany‘s first 3D-printed concrete house.

Most recently, Dr. Scheydt worked for the BMI Group as Director of Concrete & Surface Technology. She is also a member of the board of the Institut Bauen und Umwelt e. V. (IBU) and is involved in specialist networks in the construction and building materials industry.
