Automatic production of CAD-based reinforcing mesh for manufacture of precast concrete elements with openings for windows and doors is becoming increasingly important. Mbk recognized this trend and reacts to it with the flexible MSM-M mesh welding system. This mesh welding system welds reinforcement mesh directly from coils according to individual specifications. The mesh width that can be produced ranges from 400 to max. 4,000 mm, depending on requirements. The mesh length is available from 1,000 to 14,000 mm, and larger dimensions are possible on request. The new mesh welding system is currently available in five sizes.
Accessory program for automation
The newly developed DRA multiple rotor straightening and cutting machine automatically provides the longitudinal and transverse wires for flexible mesh production from coils. It processes wires from 6 to 16 mm, optionally also from 5 to 20 mm.
The DRA-M multiple rotor straightening and cutting machine directly places the longitudinal reinforcement in the desired mesh position on a movable transport table. The following step is fully automatic transport and transfer to the welding unit of the mesh welding system. The grid spacing for the longitudinal reinforcement is 25 mm, with the spacing depending on the diameter of the reinforcing rod being processed.
The transverse reinforcement is likewise placed on an additional transport table, also movable, in the correct sequence and in the individually required length. The cut transverse rods are then passed to the welding unit, where they are individually fed, from below, to the longitudinal reinforcement. The minimum spacing of the transverse wires is fixed at 50 mm, with option of infinitely variable settings.
An impressive accessory program for the automation offers useful supplements: e.g., for mesh handling, mesh placement for stand-alone systems or for downstream circulation systems as well as for further processing in the downstream bending stations.
Uncomplicated and free exchange of information

The stable construction and the low maintenance required guarantee efficient production processes. Connection to the Unitechnik CAD-CAM interface ensures easy and free exchange of information within a precast plant. LAN- and WLAN connections offer the best prerequisites for quick and uncomplicated support for troubleshooting, as well as simple and professional production planning by using a variety of updates. Around 200 m2/h – that is the average production output of the MSM-M, depending on mesh configuration and the number of openings. Higher throughput is of course possible on request.
