Smoother workflows and more effective modeling

Tekla Structures 21 offers improvements in the areas of interoperability, handling of drawings, usability, and performance, thus optimizing the workflows of construction projects. The solution offers benefits for designers and manufacturers in precast construction and steel construction and for general contractors and sub-contractors in the concrete industry.

Wide range of optimizations and simplifications

The most important improvements consist of the better handling of reference models as well as IFC management and control, and optimized workflows for industrial construction projects, because the improved integration of Intergraph Smart 3D and the new bidirectional link-up with Aveva PDMS results in improved transmission of model data and smooth integration with, for example, Revit Architecture and Trimble SketchUp Pro as well as automated export of models and drawings. This provides the basis for simplified, more efficient modeling: The direct change facilitates the drawing of auxiliary lines, circles, dots, and positioning of user-defined parts. The organizer enables the use of precise materials information based on the building component for calculation of quantities.

In addition, Tekla Structures 21 facilitates navigation, printing and visual display of drawing properties, thus enabling improved control of the plane of projection. The new version makes it possible to create true-to-detail modeling of concrete, including processing of casting sections and joints with ease. Project-related information is preserved for every respective building component, even after generation of casting sections.
