Kick-off for a new training center of Arminia Bielefeld

Kick-off for the new training center of the DSC Arminia Bielefeld sports club: Since the beginning of July, excavators have been starting work at Friedrich-Hagemann-Strasse for improving the conditions for DSC‘s professional players as well as the young talents considerably. Acting as general contractor, Goldbeck is realizing the building covering 3,500 m² by the end of 2023 – from planning through to construction.

„We are very pleased to be able to present another milestone on the road to further development with the new building,“ stated DSC General Manager, Markus Rejek, on the occasion of the presentation of the building project on Tuesday. Markus Rejek presented the plans for the new training center situated at the old location together with the DSC-Sport General Manager Samir Arabi and Andreas Isenbeck, Head of the Bielefeld subsidiary of Goldbeck.

Goldbeck builds the club‘s future project

The turnkey handover of the new building is expected to be in September 2023 including technical commissioning. Apart from dressing rooms and office areas for the professionals and the Akademinia youth academy, there will also be administration rooms and recreation rooms, fitness facilities (approx. 400 m²) and a cafeteria. The new building spread over two stories will have a gross floor area of more than 3,500 m² in total.

„A big issue is sustainability. This issue is solidly embedded in the DNA of Goldbeck. By systematic building processes using precast elements, we manage to use materials in a very resource-conserving way – we have a very high degree of prefabrication,“ reported Andreas Isenbeck of Goldbeck, the general contractor and member of the East Westphalia Alliance (Bündnis Ostwestfalen), and emphasized: „We achieve energy-efficient building standard 40. This is clearly more than the legal minimum requirements.“

Together with Sauerstoffwerke Friedrichshafen, Stadtwerke Bielefeld (municipal utility) and Phönix Contact, another member of Bündnis Ostwestfalen, Arminia Bielefeld and Goldbeck are closely collaborating as far as the issue of sustainability is concerned and are developing exciting concepts. Markus Rejek is convinced: „The building will be a flagship project for the subject of sustainability in Bielefeld, East Westphalia and beyond.“

The building project is funded by BALZ (Bündnis Arminia Leistungszentrum GmbH), taking an active part as client and leaseholder. DSC Arminia Bielefeld GmbH & Co. KGaA will be property owner and tenant. The construction costs are amounting to approx. €10 million.

„A large number of the precast concrete elements coming from our production will be used for the new training center of DSC Arminia Bielefeld: exterior wall elements, stabilizing wall elements, supports, ribbed floor elements and prestressed hollow-core slabs,“ a spokesperson of Goldbeck concluded.
