Based on the former research of EMPA (Switzerland) carried out in the 80s and works of various universities in Germany (e.g., TU Braunschweig), the first national technical approval for the strengthening of reinforced concrete structural members (ERB) by means of CFRP laminate (Z-36.12-29) was published in November 1997.
