HawkeyePedershaab and BFS together at Bauma 2019

HawkeyePedershaab and BFS made history at Bauma 2019 with their first-ever combined exhibit at the show. Both now part of the Afinitas family of brands, their combined strengths represent the drycast concrete technologies division of Afinitas. The Afinitas platform also includes a wetcast division with products and services from industry leaders New Hampton Metal Fab and Spillman Company; and a new concrete accessories division under the name of CAM Products.

Afinitas is part of BW Forsyth Partners, LLC, the investment arm of multibillion-dollar global manufacturing and engineering consulting firm Barry Wehmiller. The company’s vision is to use its growing scale, reach and global expertise to provide market-leading solutions and world-class service to precast concrete customers, while fostering enriching opportunities for employees.

Decades of experience combined

In discussing the united presence at Bauma 2019, Afinitas CEO Brad Schmidgall views the combination of HawkeyePedershaab and BFS not as a merger, but rather an expansion. “Together these companies provide our global customer base with a wider selection of machines and price points,” said Schmidgall. “Not only do we have pipe and manhole products that are complementary to one another, but now we also have products in adjacent markets, such as pressure pipes, spun poles, wetcast blocks, pavers and veneer stone. Our spirit of expansion and new product innovation is good for the industry and our employees.”

As part of the strategy of combining HawkeyePedershaab and BFS, Daniel Bühler, former General Manager of BFS, was named European President of HawkeyePedershaab BFS. “At Bauma we combined decades of experience in the precast industry to be a trusted resource in helping our customers solve their toughest challenges,” said Bühler. “We are two strong brands that will open up a lot of new opportunities with our ability to serve customers in every corner of the world.”
