Determining the modulus of elasticity of concrete with resonance analysis

The RA100 Concrete measuring instrument uses the existing technical possibilities to adapt natural frequency analysis for the determination of the modulus of elasticity to the technical requirements. The practical concerns of existing production conditions are thereby catered to.

The mechanical properties of a material are predetermined in the field of application by the rigidity and in the limit range of the load-bearing capacity by its strength. This also applies to concrete, the most widely used material.

The strength of concrete is comprehensively described by the value of the compressive strength. The most important variable for the rigidity is the modulus of elasticity (also referred to as the E-module), which determines the flexible behavior under load.

Since the beginnings of the theory of elasticity in the 17th/18th century (Hooke, Euler, Bernoulli) and in...
