As always, but different

Dear Readers,

What kind of a year was 2021? From the point of view of BFT International, much was as always: We have published twelve issues of our regular edition plus special issues for you. As intermediary among construction materials machinery, the supplier industry and concrete plants, we have served as platform for international exchange of experience. We have reported from practice and on new scientific findings, in our print magazines and on our also successful online channels and in our newsletters. We are also proud of our Yearbook, which will be published at the beginning of this month and will also feature, for the first time, the thematic bloc “Sustainability.” So much for the known and proven.

Industrial events showed themselves greatly changed by the COVID-19 pandemic – if they showed themselves at all. In February, the BetonTage, for example, celebrated its digital premiere as a purely virtual event. Other organizers followed the example, and some trade shows and forums had to be cancelled altogether.

We were all the happier that we are able to accompany the successfully held BIBM Congress in Copenhagen in November as media partner, as one of the first major in-person events held since the pandemic. The BIBM Congress focused on the future of the European construction industry - you can read a post show report in BFT issue 1/2022.

After this brief annual résumé, all that remains for me is to wish you and your families in the name of the entire BFT team merry Christmas days and a good start into a new successful year 2022.
