Small wastewater treatment plants well-proven in practice
As of December 31, 2010, overall 12.07 million of the 12.52 million inhabitants in Bavaria were connected to public sewage treatment plants. This corresponds to a connection rate of 96.4 %. According to the information given by district authorities, about 68,000 that are 81 % of the small wastewater treatment plants, that will be operated in the long term, were retrofitted with state-of-the-art biological purification systems as of April 01, 2013. All small wastewater treatment plants in Bavaria will be retrofitted by 2015.
