Self-cleaning structured slot drains
In pipelines, the flow pattern is strongly influenced by the pipe’s inner surface. Previously, the aim was to achieve an exceedingly smooth surface to keep pipe friction losses to a minimum whilst preventing sedimentation to the largest possible extent. However, the effectiveness of this method is limited, which is why solids suspended in the wastewater form deposits on the inner pipe surface if the flow rate is lower than the critical threshold. Among other effects, these deposits can reduce the hydraulic performance of the pipeline.
