Risks and opportunities of
industrialization in Brazil

After years of an economic upswing, rising costs are slowing down productivity and growth in Brazil‘s construction industry. An increased use of industrially manufactured construction systems, such as precast concrete systems, could provide ­significant momentum.

Having been used in Brazilian civil engineering for more than 50 years, precast concrete became an indispensable component in the current economic environment of the country, to such an extent that there are signs of a marked shortage of qualified labor for the production process of precast elements. At the same time, there is a growing need for new investments, particularly in areas such as transportation infrastructure, logistics and public housing.
