Paving block production in the United Arab Emirates

The time after the boom

Even if the big boom is over in the Middle East now, the Emirates are still a region with strong business activities where the concrete block production keeps running. Already in BFT INTERNATIONAL 10/2006 we reported about factories manufacturing concrete products in Dubai. This article describes the further development and current situation of the production sites.

HiTech, Abu Dhabi

Two years ago, a Hess plant including the concrete block machine type RH 2000 (Fig. 1) was installed at company HiTech in Abu Dhabi. The plant is designed for universal usage, however, is exclusively used for the production of building blocks. Sales figures are well and the company is very satisfied with the plant, so that an order has been placed for a second plant which has been installed in the meantime. In April 2009, this second plant was just in the stage of commissioning.
