Evaluating the uncertainty in measurement

An internationally uniform kind of approach was established with the introduction of the ISO/IEC „Guide to the Expression of Uncertainty in Measurement“ (GUM) so as to make the measurement results comparable all over the world. The GUM is important, for instance, when it comes to calibration. It is the binding basis for determining an uncertainty in measurement when issuing a calibration certificate.

In German-language literature, this gap is closed now by the new book published in the Beuth Practice series: for the first time, it provides a comprehensive introduction to the new scientific...
