5-Star Hotel with Curtain Walling Made of Photo Concrete

 In a few months, the former Danish Embassy situated in Drakestraße in Berlin will have been converted into the exquisite hotel „Das Stue“. Next to the Spanish Embassy, an exceptional 5-star hotel will be built with luxury rooms and suites on five stories and an extraordinary sight. As concrete curtain wall units with a surface of photo concrete will be used for the design of the 560m² large façade of the hotel.

The precast concrete manufacturer Hering Bau located in Burbach (Germany) is responsible for manufacturing, mounting and placing of the more than 100 façade elements made of photo concrete.

 At first, numerous sample panels were manufactured in order to get an ideal photo concrete template. When one had been approved, the chosen sample panel was enlarged to get finally a panel that has a size of 3.20 x 3.20 m by a reflection in the horizontal and vertical axis. The required contrast and coloring of the individual elements are created by the alternation from finely washed areas to smooth areas....
